First book of poetry by Cláudia Zafre. They are poems that address unrequited loves, night and day trips through the city of Lisbon, messages that are given to us in dreams and the transfigurative power of fiction in everyday life. They are narratives in verse that establish connection with the reader because the poems sprout of the poet but gain their meaning in the readers. As Djuna Barnes wrote in his novel, Nightwood “I have been loved, ‘she said,’ by something strange, and it has forgotten me.”
These poems try to give voice to those who still love and / or are in love with ghosts.
